Annual Selva Sannathi holy bath festival attracts thousands of devotees

The last day annual holy bath festival (Therththam in Tamil) of Thondaimanaru Selva Sannathi Murugan temple was held today morning at about 1000 hours. The festival has witnessed thousands of devotees, where temple premises and all the roads leading to the temples were seen packed with devotees.
The chief Deity, Lord Muruga’s ‘Vel” was taken from the temple at about 0900 hours to the site of the event, where holy bath festival held amid Harohara slogans of surrounded devotees.
As a part of today festival, “Mouna thiruvizha” (called “Festival of silence”) is scheduled to take place today evening at about 1800 hours.
Another special event held for the volunteers of this temple will be held tomorrow night.
