Chariot festival held at Valvai Sri Muthumariamman temple

Valvettithurai Sri Muthumariamman temple chariot festival held today. Having taking special pooja in the morning, the Chariots commenced to underway in the outer roads of the temples at about 0930 hours and reached their destinations at about 1230 hours, where special Pooja is taking place now.
Large numbers of devotees, including a large number of VVTrs, living in other parts of Srilanka and overseas have witnessed the festival.
Valvai Sri Muthumariamman temple’s annual festival is considered as the most important event in Valvettithurai. The annual festival that had commenced on 15th of April, ends tomorrow, by celebrating Holy bath ('Thirtham' in Tamil) festival at Orani beach, located in the Bay of Bengal, along Point Pedro – KKS Road.
The great festival of 'Indravizha' is to be held on tomorrow evening, where a large number of people is expected to participate from Jaffna.
