A locally made well designed double boat, named as "Blues Pleasure boat" meant for boating has been modified with solar power and put on service at Valvettithuai, Jaffna yesterday, 14th March 2016.
In addition to the attempt of having solar power, Mr.Sakthivel – a Valvettithurai based Norwegian, who owns this boat, has made a modification on the bottom of the boat with water proof glasses so as to see the features of the underwater.
The boat with these features is said to be the first of its type in Northern Srilanka.
The boat was initially built by "Sea Horse Marine" in Karainagar and launched on 14th February 2014.
The boat is being operated in the Palk Strait, off Valvettithurai – Point Pedro seas.
