It is a mile stone for this small well known coastal town for having a swimming pool of international standard by building in a land which so far did belong to Srilankan Customs.
Building of swimming pool would be taken in three phases, details of which will be posted separately in this web site soon.
Guinness records holder late Mr.Ananthan had swam across Palk Strait in two ways in early 70’s, by commencing and successfully completing his swimming at this same place of Revady, Valvettithurai.
It is the first time Kumar Ananthan’s wife along with his two sons have visited Valvettithurai.
It may be noted that Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam was one of the key person behind the scene to get the land from the Srilankan Customs Authorities to Valvettithurai Urban council to commence building of this memorial swimming pool.
