A man died after falling into a constructed well in ‘Kuchcham’ area of Valvettithurai, Jafna on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Rasanyagam Inbathas, 39, a construction worker, hailing from Valvettithurai.
He fell into the 25 feet deep well from a nearby coconut tree, while climbing onto the coconut tree.
Soon after the incident, he was rescued from the well and taken to the Valvettithurai base hospital, and then to Point Pedro district hospital. However he had already passed away prior to the arrival to the Point Pedro district hospital.
