The holy bath - last day annual festival of Valvettithurai Sri Muthumariamman held today at Orani beach, Valvettithurai.
Followed by special Pooja today early morning, the chief deity along with other deities reached the site of holy bath – Orani beach, which is located at about 1000 meter east of VVT junction along the Point Pedro – KKS road.
Holy bath commenced at about 0830 hours and continued till 1000 hours.
Large numbers of devotees, including those VVTrs from other parts of the Island and Diasporas of VVT origin, witnessed the festival.
This temple annual festival is considered to be most notable event in this well-known little coastal town. The annual festival which commenced on 26th
of last month lasts till today, by celebrating the special event of ‘Inthiravizha’ which is scheduled to commence today late evening.
