Valvai Sri muthumariamman holy bath festival held today

The last day event of Holy bath festival of Valvettithurai Sri muthumariamman temple was held today. Large number of devotees, including those VVTrs from other parts of the Island and Diasporas of VVT origin took holy bath which had taken place at Orani beach, Valvettithurai.
Followed by special Pooja today early morning, the chief deity along with other deities reached the site of holy bath – Orani beach, which is located at about 1000 meter east of VVT junction along the Point Pedro – KKS road.
Holy bath commenced at about 0800 hours and continued till 1000hours.
This temple annual festival is considered to be most notable event in this well – konon tiny coastal town. The annual festival which commenced on8th of this month lasts till today, by celebrating the special event called ‘Inthira Vizha” (Haven festival)
