Valvettithurai Sri Muthumariamman temple chariot festival held today 18th April 2019. Having taking special pooja in the morning at about 0800 hours, the Chariots commenced to underway in the outer roads of the temples at about 0930 hours and reached their destinations at about 1200 hours, where special Pooja taking place.
Large numbers of devotees, including a large number of VVTrs, living in other parts of Srilanka and overseas have gathered and witnessed the festival.
Valvai Sri Muthumariamman temple’s annual festival is considered as the most important event in Valvettithurai. The annual festival that had commenced on 4tth of April, ends tomorrow, by celebrating Holy bath ('Thirtham' in Tamil) festival at Orani beach, located in the Bay of Bengal, along Point Pedro – KKS Road.
The great festival of 'Indravizha' is to be held on tomorrow evening, where a large number of peoples are expected to participate in this year as well.
