Valvai Sri muthumariamman temple’s chariot festival held today

The chariot (“Ther” in Tamil) festival of Valvettithurai Sri Muthumariamman temple a was held today, 21st April 2016.
Having commenced with special Pooja in the morning; Chariots commenced to underway at about 0930 hours on outer roads of the temple.
Large numbers of devotees, including those VVTrs from other parts of the Island and Diasporas of Valvettithurai origin, witnessed the event.
This temple annual festival is considered to be most notable event in this little coastal town which is almost known to all in this island.
The annual festival which commenced on 8th of this month lasts till tomorrow, by celebrating holy bath festival in the beach of Palk Strait, at Orani, Valvettithurai.
