Point Pedro Jetty road reopened after 14 years

Point Pedro Jetty Road, a 400 meter road, which just begins from Point Pedro junction and leads to Jaffna Town, via Valvettithurai, has been re-opened after 14 years yesterday. The Jetty road so far remained within the former 521 Brigade Headquarters premises, maintained as High Security Zone (HSZ) declared reopened for public use during a brief function, held at Point Pedro Yesterday morning.

 

Point Pedro is considered as an Administrative town of Vadamaradchi and 3rd largest town in the Jaffna district. The leading schools, i.e Hartley College and Methodist School are located in Point Pedro. 

 

Valvettithurai is located at about 8 Kilometer west of Point Pedro.

 

Valvettithurai, Paruththithurai (Point Pedro in English) and Kankesanthurai are 3 major sea town in the Jaffna Peninsula.
