Favoring Valvai U.C, Valvettithurai Theruvil Public park case is dismissed in Point Pedro court

Today hearing of Valvettithurai Theruvil Public park case, in Point Pedro Majestic Court has ended with the dismissal of the case, thus paving way for Valvettithurai Urban Council to go ahead with setting up of the new park.
According to the Valvai Urban Council sources, the case was dismissed under rule 66, by the Judge Mrs.Srinithi Nanthakumar, stating that the petitioner, the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) of Srilanka Police, who filed the case against the Valvai Urban council, has failed to produce sufficient evidence.
Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam, the member of the NPC and former member of Valvai UC, Mr.N.Anatharaj, the Chairman of Valvai UC, Mr.Sathish, the Vice Chairman of Valvai UC has appeared in the court representing Valvettithurai Urban Council.
It should be noted that, Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam had built 2 numbers of Tombs in different locations, for their senior members of Kumarappa and Pulendran, and Sathasivam Kirusnakumar alias ‘Kittu’, in the disputed Theruvil Park area in the early 90’s, which has prompted TID to file the case against the formation of the relevant Public Park.
