Veteran Artist Muthusami to get ‘Kalaa pusana’ award

Valvettithurai born veteran artist Velliyampalam Muthusami has been selected as the recipient of an award of ‘Kalaa pusana’ (கலாபூசண) this year, announced last Friday.
The 68-year-old artist, a symbol of ingenious and simple, had captivated many audiences in the 1960s and ‘70s, representing 'Heliyans', competing with other veteran artists like Athiroobasingam and Thevadas in Valvettihurai.
Mr.Muthusami has directed several dramas too till to this date.
‘Kalaa pusana’ is a popular award given to the artist who served for the arts field in the Island. The award giving ceremony is yet to be confirmed.
