London Burnt wood school students raise £351.65p for Valvai RC School

London Burnt wood school) students have sent a letter to the principal of Valvettithurai Roman Catholic Tamil (mix) school after raising a £351.65p to help to buy an urgently needed Photo copy machine. At a campaign held at the school, burnt wood Lane, Tooting, yesterday morning, the students managed to get their target. Having read the article about the RC school published by us a couple of weeks ago, a valvai based student Sarmila Varatharaj and few more valvai based her fellow students have attempted the fund raising.

 

“We hope you can buy your printer with our donation of £351. We understand you go work through hard conditions every day and we will be very happy to raise you more money if you need to. We raised money by having a sponsored sari day and sold cake, kesari and samosa and henna”  - said by Sharmila’s team in a letter written to the RC School principal.

 

It is learnt that the sum collected will be directly sent to the RC principal thorough a London based charity called ‘Nampikkai Oli’ ('நம்பிக்கை ஒளி" in Tamil)
