Valvettithurai Sri Muththumariyamman temple ‘Theertham’ festival held

Valvettithurai Sri Muththumariyamman temple ‘Theertham’ festival held today morning at Orani beach. Large numbers of devotees, including devotees of Valvettithurai origin from Colombo and over seas as well, have participated in the festival.
The KSS - Point pedro road from Oorikkadu till Oorani has been decorated with lights and Cut-outs etc so as to celebrate the festival.
Numbers of huge smoke filled balloons (Pukaikoodu) were sent to the sky at the site of the Festival.
The attractive last day night festival of 'Inthiravizha' has been cancelled this time due to the auspicious time, related to the phase of the moon.
