The body of Thankavelaayutham arulaanantham, age 19, from Aathikovil, Valvettithurai, was found yesterday morning off Point Pedro coast of the juncture of Palk strait and Bay of Bengal. The body was spotted by Point pedro fishermen who have gone for fishing in the morning on 15th May 2013.
Thankavelaayutham arulaanantham was reported to have gone missing after struck by a lightening in Palk strait off VVT coast.
It has been further reported that Arulaanantham with a fellow fisherman gone for fishing in the early morning on 13th May 2013, has been struck and thrown over board after struck by a lightening due to the unsettled weather, caused by Tropical Cyclone 'Mahasen'.
The fellow fisherman, who was unconscious for the time being due to the striking of the same lightening, has returned back shore safely. Immediate rescue, for the missing person, was not available due the bad weather experienced in the Palk strait.
The body was cremated yesterday at about 1100 AM, at Oorikadi, Mayiliyathanai cemetery, after formal investigation by Valvettithurai police.
