‘Valvettithurai Theeruvil Public Park’ opening ceremony held today

‘Valvettithurai Theeruvil Public Park’ opening ceremony was held today, 11-07-13 at about 1000 hours.
Mr. N. Rasanayakam (Provincial director, Urban development Authority) was present as Chief guest and Mrs. Vijitha Sathiyakumar (Deputy Director, Central Environmental Authority) and Mr. Joganantharasa (Divisional forest officer) were present as Special guests respectively, at the opening ceremony.
The ceremony was headed by Mr. N. Anantharaj, Chairman of Valvettithurai Urban Council. At the ceremony, the former Member of Parliament, Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam had given welcome speech and Mr.Thandaayutha paaniga thesikar of Valvai Sri Muthumariyamman temple has given the Blessing speech.
Schools Principals, Valvettithurai Urban Council members, District Medical Officer Dr.Mayilerum Perumal, Members of Sports clubs, Members of Libraries and Well-wishers were too present at the opening ceremony, which lasted till mid noon.
20 numbers of Tree seedlings were planted by the guests in order to commence with project of Public Park and another 40 numbers of Tree seedlings are scheduled to be planted in the coming days.
The park is named after the place of Theeruvil, where intended Public Park is located, which is 400m south west of VVT junction.
