Tamil National Alliance (TNA) held a Northern provincial election campaign in Valvettihurai of Jaffna Peninsula yesterday, 6th August 2013. Prior to the commencement of the campaign at the Valvettiturai Uthayasooriyan beach, the TNA members had prayed at the Kappaludaiyavar Vinakar temple by breaking a coconut – a religious tradition followed in the Jaffna Peninsula.
The TNA campaign rally held at Valvettithurai Uthayasooriyan beach with the participation of TNA candidates contesting for the NPC, including its chief ministerial candidate Mr.C.V. Vigneswaran, Paliamanterains Mr. R. Sampanthan, Mr. Saravanapavan, Mr. Suresh Premachandran, former Parliamentarian Mr. N. Srikaantha, former Parliamentarian Mr. M. K. Sivajilingam, (who is one the NPC candidate too) and TNA members of the Eastern provincial council, lasted for about 5 hours, till 2300 hours.
The Provincial Council election campaign is in full swing in North-Western and Central Provinces. The TNA too has launched its campaign for the Northern Provincial Council elections in Northern Districts.
