The tomb (சமாதி - Samaathi in Tamil) of Mrs.Saravanamuthu Sinathangam, located at ‘Mannachi manal’, Valvettithurai, has been renovated by her relative recently. The renovated hundred years old tomb is not known to many even in Valvettithrai.
The tomb is said to be built by Mrs. S. Sinathangam only, with the permission of the court, when she alive and later on Mrs. S. Sinathangam has been buried in the same place.
Mrs. S. Sinathangam, a native of Valvettithurai, became a successful ship owner after her husband Mr. Saravanamuthu passed away.
It is learnt that apart from leading in shipping. Mrs. Sinathangam has put a lot of effort to bring up Hindsiuam in Valvettithurai, including the building of the Naruvilady Vinayakar temple, located in the fish market lane in Valvettithurai.
They said Mrs. Sinathangam tomb is located at Mannachi Manal, which is located between Orikadu and Mayiliyathanai, about 150 meters away from Point Pedro – KKS road.
