In a bid to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for 'Longest Carnatic singing Marathon', a Srilankan Tamil Carnatic Vocal Singer sung Carnatic non stop for 40 hours
The amazing fete was achieved by Shri.Aruran Arunanthy, 40, a native of Jaffna of Northern Srilanaka, in front of huge audiance at the Colombo Hindu Ladis College. The record of Longest Carnatic singing Marathon is currently 24 hours, taken place at Bengaluru, India
Aruran, who began the marathon performance at 16 hours on 8th June and concluded at 10:19 hours on today 10th June 2018.
The evenet was organised by The Saiva Mangaiyar Kalagam in association with AarohanA Fine arts Forum.
Aruran, who is the fromer student of Jaffna Hindu College, graduated Carnatic Music from Annamalai Univercity, Tamil Nadu, India.
