Valvettithurai Sri Muththumari Amman temple annual festival commenced on today, 15th Apr 2018. Having done special Pooja at 10.30 hours, the temple Lion Flag ('Kodi erram' in Tamil) was hoisted at the tower ('Kopuram' in Tamil) at 1130 hours.

The festival lasts for 15 days, where the chariot festival will be held on 28th of April 2018, followed by ‘Theerththam’ on 29th of April 2018.
This is the most notable festival in Valvettithurai, which attracts many people, including those displaced people living overseas.
This famous old temple is located about 500 m west of Valvettithurai junction, along KKS – Point Pedro road, adjacent to Valvettithurai Sivan temple.
