Valvettithurai uthasuriyan beach ceremonially opened by Vikneswaran

Newly constructed Sea barrier to protect a tiny beach in Valvettithurai of Jaffna was ceremonially declared open by Northern provincial council’s Chief Minister Mr.C.V.Vikneswarn on today 15.01.16 at about 1830 hours, followed by the event of ‘Valvettithurai great kite festival’. Mr.M.K.Sivajilingam (Member of Northern provincial council), Mrs.Kiriya Vasuthevan (Secretary of Valvettithurai Urban Council), and Mr.P.Kesavaraj (Administrative Director of Jaffna daily newspaper – Thinakkural) too participated in the events as the guests.
Beach renovation including building of this Sea barrier is expected to cost several million Srilankan rupees, which was mainly donated by the members of Uthayasooriyan Sports club including those Diaspora members.
The event is expected to continue till late night with a musical programme, where couple of Tamil Nadu based Vijay TV famous Super singers is scheduled to take part.
