Holy bath ('Theerththam' in Tamil) festival of 'Valvetty Vervil Veerkaththi Vikneswarar temple', 'Commantharai Manonmani Ambal temple' and Kerudail Veramaakaalil Amman temple held yesterday.
'Valvetty Vervil Veerkaththi Vikneswarar temple' holy bath festival
'Valvetty Vervil Veerkaththi Vikneswarar temple' holy bath festival held yesterday morning at Orani beach, Valvettithurai. Having performed special pooja, the god had reached Orani beach for holy bath at about 0730 hours and holy bath took place at about 0800 hours. Followed by special Pooja at Orani, the God arrived Nediyakadu Pillaiyar temple and returned to main temple at about noon.
The annual festival had commenced on 4th of June and lasted for last 10 days, where 'Poonkavanam' would be held tommorrow.
Valvetty Vevil Veerkaththi Vikneswarar temple is located at about 800m south east of Valvettithurai junction and it is the second largest Vinayaka temple in this area.
'Commnatharai Manonmani Ambal temple' holy bath festival
Unlike other temples in this area, special pooja for holy bath festival of Commantharai Manonmani Ambal temple had commenced yesterday early moring at about 0300 hours. Having done special pooja, Holy bath took place at about 0600 hours at Temple's pond ('Theertha Kulam' in tamil).
The annual festival of this temple too had commenced on 4th of June and lasted for last 10 days, where 'Poonkavanam' would be held tommorrow too.
